About the Artist

Biography

As far back as Jackie can remember she has always wanted to be in the presence of children.  Born into a loving, Northern Kentucky family of seven children, her fondest memories include the many sweet times she would spend with her younger brother and sister. She had, indeed, discovered her soulful connection to children.

As a children’s portrait artist, Jackie’s desire has always been to capture that endearing connection she experienced at such a young age. Perhaps that is why painting children in their younger years is a passion closest to her heart. She delights in reflecting their innocence, honesty and purity, especially at a time when they are just beginning to unveil their seed of potentiality. Capturing their honest emotion and spontaneity is Jackie’s highest goal in all her commissions, whether in oil or watercolor.

Jackie earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Retail Advertising with an emphasis on Fashion Illustration from the Columbus College of Art and Design. She is an artist of process and quality, preferring to follow the most careful, attentive and productive path to achieving quality results in each of her paintings. Her stylizations reflect the fresh and spontaneous spirit of each child, while her colors support their brightness of spirit.  Jackie’s special gift is to open a passage for the soul to express itself on the canvas and ultimately reveal the spark that is unique to each child.  Each commission speaks to that special, individual spark.
